The Iliadis family has been active in the national road transport sector since 1953 when Mr. Iliadis Christodoulos started operating his first truck in the small town of Serres. In 1961 a second truck was purchased and at the same time the company was relocated to the city 
of Thessaloniki. In the early 1980s the second generation of the family took over helping the company to expand steadily in the following years, enlarging its fleet and investing in new facilities. In 2011, under the new regulations of the road transport sector (EU Regulation 3887/10), Iliadis Cargo S.A. was founded and absorbed the entire transport fleet of the family. The purpose of the company’s operations was broadened and to include all types of freight transport as well as logistic services. Since 2009 the third generation has also an active role in the company.
Today the company’s fleet consists of 30 vehicles of various types and operates more than 40 third-party carrier trucks. The company’s main facilities are located in Kalochori, Thessaloniki, in a key position between the port of the city and the industrial area of Sindos. In 2020 another new facility was launched, increasing the total warehousing space to 4,000 and the supporting land to 20,000 m2 (workshops, parking, container terminal etc.). The company operates also cross-docking facilities in Aspropisrgos, Attica, focusing on the company’s network in Southern Greece and on the islands.
